Soccer Aid Gala Dinner
WowGrass decks out grand entrance to The Science Museum with real grass for first ever Soccer Aid Gala Dinner.
Soccer Aid for Unicef is the world’s biggest celebrity football match and has been changing children’s lives since 2006.
From Zola to Zidane, and Michael Sheen to Usain Bolt, some of the world’s biggest celebrities and footballing legends have teamed up over the years to raise over £30 million for Unicef’s work for children.
For the first time this year, Unicef UK held a soccer aid for Unicef Gala. This exclusive event brought together the worlds of entertainment and sport for an incredible night of fundraising, with Soccer Aid players, football legends and friends, pre match sociable and a special performance from Unicef UK Ambassador & Soccer Aid Co-Founder Robbie Williams. All whilst helping Unicef to create a world where every child survives and thrives.
WowGrass were keen to do their part for such a fantastic cause and transformed the entrance to The Science Museum starting with a real grass carpet leading into the main entrance a through tunnel spreading out onto a real grass football pitch, where stars gathered for press interviews before heading upstairs to the reception.
But we didn’t stop there. Once in the main event hall Wowgrass was present and centre stage, quite literally with circular grass table circles adorning every table along with the main stage backdrop covered entirely in real grass.
The grass certainly provided a “WOW” Factor, with many of the stars on the carpet kneeling to feel if the grass was real.
“A HUGE thank you to you, Roger and everyone at Wowgrass for your support of the Soccer Aid for Unicef Gala. Everyone commented on how incredible the grass looked around the venue and it really added a special touch to the event which set the tone for the evening. You were so incredibly generous with your product and time and I cannot thank you enough.
As this was our first event we were hoping to make it ‘good enough’ to be able to build on it next year and grow it in to an annual ‘must attend’ however, the evening exceeded all of our expectations and we have already had a number of organisations asking how they get involved and even people trying to buy tickets to the 2020 event already so we have set the bar very high for ourselves – not quite sure how we top it next year!
Please pass my thanks on to Roger and the install crew who were an absolute pleasure to work with. I really cannot speak highly enough of Wowgrass and without a doubt we would love to work with you again next year.”
